Prepared For Life!

“Prepared For Life” is the Boys Scouts of America’s motto. I think it’s a great motto to have when raising Positive Children. I often wonder “if I were to die today, would my girls grow up to be the kind of women I would desire them to be?” I know it’s kind of an obscure question to ask yourself but I guess what I really want to know is “have I prepared them for life?” 

Our children have a mind, and a heart, of their own. We can guide them and present our perspective, being absolutely committed to their preparation, yet unattached to the result – we want them to make their own decisions and be who they are!

And speaking of training and direction, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) hosts an annual Licensee Summit “where licensees and the BSA gather to discuss direction and strategy, get to know each other better, and plan for the future,” and I had the honor of speaking at their 7th Annual gathering in Braselton, Georgia at The Château Élan, an AAA Four Diamond Award winner (Oh MY! What a delightful place that is!).

I had so much fun during my presentation. The attendees learned “The 20 Monumental Secrets of Guerrilla Marketing,” as well as other essentials of Guerrilla Marketing, and were able to go through The 7 Sentence Marketing Plan that guided Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and other brilliant minds, when they were in Jay Conrad Levinson’s class at Berkeley University, CA. It was wonderful to share my stories and these valuable guerrilla marketing techniques and strategies.

“You were an inspiration as well as provided excellent concrete direction for creating Guerrilla Marketing Programs to build businesses!” wrote Gillian Murrell, Brand Management & Brand Licensing Strategist, and remarkable business and family woman who booked me to speak at the event.

The inspiration was mutual. I love speaking, naturally, but that morning I woke up as sick as only a pregnant woman could get. 🙂  By the time I was on stage, I was pumped by the energy of such a wonderful audience.

Baby and I are glad to be home with the family, but I sure had a royal experience: the bed was so yummy at The Château Élan that I stayed in and ordered delicious vegan room service. The free Wi-Fi, the clearly labeled “vegan-friendly” dishes at lunch, and the top-notch service were heavenly… and having Syed Ali of Gwinnett Classic Limousine as my chauffeur there and back was certainly a treat.

“Life is an adventure or nothing at all” said once, Helen Keller. Being Prepared For Life – or preparing the little ones, for that matter – is something you do every day, every hour, every moment… prepared to face the challenging moments, prepared to enjoy the blissful ones, and be PRESENT for everything in between.
