Nursery Rhyme Quiz

I wasn’t raised in the U.S., but because  I was fortunate to be able to stay home with the girls during their first year of life , I was able to get acquainted with the “kid culture” and become a fun mom!

I watched a lot of PBS Kids:  Sesame Street (which I knew as “Plaza Sesamo”), especially Elmo’s World, Calliou, Clifford The Big Red Dog, Arthur, Mr. Rogers, and yes…I admit it… Barney! LOL

I was introduced to Dr. Seuss, The Berenstain BearsThe Very Hungry CaterpillarGood Night Moon, I love You This Much, Love You Forever (just to name a few of my favorites), the classic nursery rhymes.

My nickname for Elyssa is “BaaBaa” because she would say “Ma-ma, BaaBaa” so I could sing the Black Sheep song all day long!

I played this nursery rhyme quiz game at my cousin’s baby shower and it brought back memories. Time sure flies. Let’s see how many you get right!

  1. Who did the dish run away with?
  2. What’s papa gonna buy if the mockingbird don’t sing?
  3. Where did the spider go when the sun came out?
  4. When it’s raining and pouring what’s the old man doing?
  5. How much wool did Baa Baa Black Sheep have?
  6. What did Jack burn jumping over the candlestick?
  7. What did Humpty Dumpty sit on?
  8. What did Jack and Jill fetch on the hill?
  9. “One-Two, Buckle my shoe”…What’s Seven – Eight?
  10. “This old man he played eleven, he played knick knack” Where?
  11. What did Peter Piper pick?
  12. “The wheels on the bus goes round and round” To Where?
  13. What does the little teapot say after all steamed up?
  14. What did I lose when somebody sneezed?
  15. An old lady swallowed a fly, then a spider, what came next?
Good luck!

Yes my darling. I promise you will soon know the answer to all these questions. You can watch them on YouTube now, which is fabulous, but remember that nothing replaces mommy's and daddy's voices, as unprofessional and rough as they may be.
