My daughters and I attended an exclusive advanced screening or Disney Pixar’s ONWARD – which opened on March 6 – and it was an amazing experience for us.

I had shared free tickets to this ONWARD screening with many of my friends and followers, so it was like a family reunion!

I’ve been excited for this movie since it was announced at D23 Expo when I attended the event courtesy of the Walt Disney Company.

We didn’t know much about the plot and the title was still under construction; however, the backstory shared by Director Dan Scanlon (Monsters University) had the audience in chills and tears.

ONWARD is a heartwarming story about two brothers who lost their father early in childhood and they get a chance to reconnect with him for one day.

Scanlon’s own father passed away when he was a year old and his relationship with his brother inspired this film, which introduces elves, sprites, satyrs, cyclops, centaurs, gnomes and trolls, among other creatures from mythology, folklore, fables and fantasy fiction to the Pixar repertoire.

ONWARD takes us on an extraordinary quest to discover the magic of brotherhood. Onward is to Brother Bear what Frozen is to Lilo and Stitch. Do you know what I mean?

ONWARD has an all-star animation, design, and production team, including Carlos Felipe Leon, whom I had the chance to interview, and it features an exceptional list of voice actors and actresses, including:

Tom Holland is teenage elf Ian Lightfoot. Barley’s brother and Laurel’s son.
Chris Pratt is Ian’s brother and Laurel’s son, Barley Lightfoot.

The Most Positive Quotes From ONWARD

The girls and I gathered up the most positive quote from Disney/Pixar’s ONWARD. We left out some powerful ones to avoid spoiling the movie for you and I won’t tell you who said what, because that could get spoilery, as well.

“I hope there’s a little magic left in you.” Even when we don’t feel like there’s any hope, there’s always something we can hold on to, and it’s within.

“You’ll never be ready!” You are already READY but will never FEEL ready. Take action when your heart tells you to, even if your mind tells you you aren’t ready.

“Just do one thing my way.” We must be flexible and know there is more than one way to do things. Being humble enough to try someone else’s way to do something is a powerful move that may just surprise you.

“Well, I just did.” Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do something. Instead, do it and own it!

“I know you can.” Surround yourself with people who can see your power, your competence, and your ability.

“Now you know the worst that could happen so there’s nothing to be scared of.” This is a great technique to move from fear: imagine the worst possible thing that can happen and prepare for that, but keep moving forward.

“Believe with every step!” Believing is not a “once and done” situation. You gotta keep your belief high every step of your journey.

“I needed that” “Ah, but did you?” Sometimes we think we know what we need, but many “needs” can be crutches that limit us and hold us back on our way to greatness.

“Speak from your heart’s fire.” To follow our dreams, we must speak with passion!

“The apprentice has become the master.” Just like Napoleon Hill surpassed Dale Carnegie, we can become masters of our craft and surpass even the wildest expectations.

“You have to take a risk to go on an adventure” According to Helen Keller “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all,” and I agree. The adventure requires risks and lots of heart!

“Don’t hold back.” When you get a chance to use your gift and to do what you love, go ALL IN!

“I am a mighty warrior!” I like this one as an affirmation. Sometimes you need to remind yourself just who you are.

“Magic helped all in need, but it wasn’t easy to master.” We are all given magical gifts, but they aren’t often easy to master. Don’t give up and keep practicing until you master your craft, because it’s your healing power.

“Over time, magic faded away.” If we don’t use our gifts, they fade away. Let’s be intentional!

“I know you’re stronger than that.” Sometimes we need someone to remind us of our strength. I know it helps when I feel weary and like there’s no more fight in me to have someone encourage me and remind me what I’m made of (because of who made me!).

“You just have to let your inner warrior out.” Ahhh “JUST!” It’s not that easy but it is that simple. We fear we won’t be enough or we will be too much. We fear what they will say or what they will do, but fear is not a creative force, it can be a limiting emotion.

“He was bold. When he walked into a room, people noticed.” Confidence is not arrogance, but when you shine your light, everyone can see it, feel it, and be blessed by it. Do it on purpose.

“A person can only do magic if they have the gift.” Sometimes we compare to others and we discover we can’t do what they do the way they do it. But here’s the deal: others are thinking the very same thing about what you do and the way you do it. We have different gifts and when we operate within our own gifts, it feels like magic.

“On a quest, the clear path is never the right one.” Robert Frost would call this “the road less traveled.” It takes courage to take a different road than the one you’ve been told is right. Do you recall a time you’ve done this – what did you learn from that? Like the poet said “it makes all the difference.”

“What have I become?” Sometimes we realize we’ve been living in a way that’s either not in alignment with whom we truly are or we are living a life that is below our standards. In that moment, there could be regret, guilt, and shame or there could be motivation to get back on track – the choice is yours.

“My gut knows where to go.” You have 6 mental faculties that can help you live a life you love, and your intuition is your direct connection to the Divine. Let it be your guide.

“Follow all decrees.” Following all the rules, commandments, and decrees won’t guarantee that everything will be as you want it to be, but it will keep you safe. Do it. He he.
